If any man is reaching out for an office of overseer, he is desirous of a fine work. The overseer should therefore be irreprehensible, a husband of one wife, moderate in habits, sound in mind, orderly, hospitable, qualified to teach, not a drunken brawler, not a smiter, but reasonable, not belligerent, not a lover of money, a man presiding over his own household in a fine manner,
having children in subjection with all seriousness

The Deacon’s role at Holy Trinity Baptist Church is that of a servant in compliance with Acts 6:1-7. Jesus provided the ultimate role model for servant hood. Throughout his ministry, he reminded his followers in word and deed that he was among them as one who serves and the Deacons are moving forward in imitating Jesus as servants in the congregation. Handling this role brings both honor and responsibility which includes:
- Regular Visits to the Sick at Home or in a Rest Home
- Welcome Visit to the Home of New Members
- Set Up Communion Service and Assist the Pastor.
- Lead the Church service in the absence of the Pastor
- Act as Counselor to member with the assistance of the Pastor
- Maintain order in the Church. Make sure Pastor is free to teach and preach Service
- Assist with the Ordinance of the Lord’s Supper and Baptism.
